I don’t agree with the CDC rescinding the mask mandate because I think people on the whole are too selfish, and we’re nowhere near vaccinated enough in this country or the world. But I am overjoyed to be vaccinated, and I hugged 6 people this weekend. The first words out of my mouth were “I’m vaccinated!”
People are already maskless. Seeing mouths and chins is strange. After a year of reading eyes and forehead, I have whole faces to interpret.
I don’t know what to think, and it’s so easy to make a misstep.
It’s so easy to get complacent and believe in what’s selfish.
It’s hard to set aside safety measures when you’re not sure it’s safe.
2 years ago, I scattered local wildflower seeds in the grass behind my apartment. I’m not sure what this is, other than beautiful and determined. These flowers are living in the narrow path between the lawn and the sidewalk, and they’re thriving.
